Three Questions That Sort Any Chat in Two Seconds

How do you decide where a particular chat belongs without thinking about it for five minutes?

Run it through three quick questions.

The first yes decides, and you stop there.

Question one: is it about work or earning?

If yes, it goes to WhatsApp Business.

Clients, vendors, leads, invoices, anything that pays the bills.

We start with work because it is the easiest to spot.

You almost never have to think twice about whether a customer is a customer.

Getting this one right also gives you the biggest relief, because work is what follows you home.

Anything that pays the bills belongs in the work lane, however friendly the sender is.

If yes, it goes to Signal.

The people you would hate to lose, and the private groups that matter.

These come second because they are the most precious, not because they are less important.

You will find this list is shorter than you expect.

That makes it a very manageable set of chats to move across.

Then it is everyday noise, and it stays in personal WhatsApp.

Deliveries, OTPs, shops, one-time contacts, the man who fixed your geyser last April.

These are chats that just need a number, not the real you.

Notice that this lane needs no decision at all.

Anything left over falls here by default, which is exactly where the noise belongs.

So there is never a fourth question to ask.

Practise on chats you already have.

Open WhatsApp right now and look at your last ten conversations.

Silently sort each one: work, people, or noise.

You will see straight away how quickly it becomes second nature.

Do it once more tomorrow and it stops being a decision at all.

That is the whole point of a system like this.

It is not clever, and it does not need to be.

It just has to be fast enough that you use it when a new message arrives at eight in the evening.
