Mobile phones have become a necessary and important part of our lives.
The biggest issue with any mobile phone is that the battery is never enough. No matter how carefully we use it, at some point we find ourselves wishing the battery life was better. The bad news is, this issue gets worse with time.
What can we do? Are there some settings we can change?
Yes!
Brightness
On any mobile phone, the brightness is set to Auto/Adaptive. This means that depending on the surroundings, the phone will automatically adjust the brightness. Ideally, we should disable this option and set the brightness ourselves.
Low Power Mode / Power Saver / Battery Saver
There are many automatic processes that are taking place in the background. These background processes include apps which update automatically. Some apps may also be tracking your location (e.g. Google Maps).
Turn on this mode to stop all the background processes. This means the app will only update when you are using it. For example, if you are using Google Maps for navigation and then switch to Mail, then Google Maps will only update your location when you switch back to it.
Screen Auto-Lock
When we finish using our mobile phones, we either leave them on the desk or put them in our pockets/purses. Unless we press the power button, the screen remains on. It will automatically lock (the screen with go off) after a set amount of time. This is automatically set between 1 and 5 minutes.
We should reduce this time to 30 seconds.
An useful information.
