What is Amazon Prime?
Prime is a paid membership on Amazon.in.
It bundles several separate things into one subscription.
You get faster delivery, a streaming service, music, e-books, and early entry into the big sales.
What do I actually get?
Free and quicker delivery is why most people join.
In the bigger cities you often get next-day or same-day delivery.
Small orders carry no delivery fee either.
Members also get into Prime Day and the Great Indian Festival early.
Is Prime Video any good?
It is a proper streaming service.
You get Hindi and regional films, Indian originals, and international shows.
Watch it in the Prime Video app on your phone, or on the TV.
Not a smart TV? A streaming stick in the HDMI port fixes that.
One thing to check: Amazon now shows ads on some Prime Video plans.
Look at what your plan includes before you renew.
What about Prime Music?
Music comes through the Amazon Music app, on the same login.
The version included with Prime is limited.
The full on-demand catalogue is a paid upgrade on top.
Is music your main reason for joining? Compare Spotify, YouTube Music and JioSaavn first.
What does it cost now?

Amazon now sells Prime in several shapes.
There are monthly, quarterly and annual plans.
There are also cheaper cut-down plans.
Some of those limit video quality, and some drop video altogether.
Prices move, so open the Prime page on Amazon.in and compare.
Do I need it?
Say yes if you order a few times a month.
Say yes if someone at home will actually watch the shows.
Say no if you buy from Amazon twice a year.
Paid delivery on two orders costs less than a membership.
Either way, take the monthly plan first.
Things to Remember
- Compare the current plans on Amazon.in; the old โน999 price is long gone.
- Try one month before you commit to a full year.
- Check if your phone plan or credit card already gives you Prime free.
- Turn off auto-renew at Amazon.in -> Your Account -> Prime if you only wanted one sale.
