Most of us use laptops for our office work today. Laptops are usually light and portable and don’t have as many wires as desktops.

Laptops have screens ranging from 11″ to 17″. With the resolutions of these screen improving, the text size is getting smaller. We could increase the text size, but then there is too little desktop space to work! The strain on the eyes is just growing with time.

Due to the screen size, we are unable to effectively work with multiple windows open. Continually switching between open windows, such as mail, websites, programs, app etc. is the only option.

Using a laptop means that you are looking down at an inclined screen. Sitting in this position for a prolonged period would cause neck aches and backaches. People with pains are not usually very productive.

First, we need to improve our posture if we want to get any work done. The ideal position would be to have the top of the screen at your eye level. This would ensure that your neck is straight and you are looking straight ahead rather than tilting your head downwards all day.

This position of the screen would be difficult to achieve with a laptop. If somehow we managed to get the computer into this position, we are still left with the issue of size and multitasking.

Dell (a famous computer company) has even conducted a study showing that multiple displays are in fact better and increase productivity.
