Everyone has misplaced their mobile phones at some point. We may leave our mobile phone in a taxi or maybe a restaurant. In some cases we are lucky enough to be able to find our phones. Sometimes our phones could even be stolen!

Both Android and iOS now offer simple solutions to help track your mobile phone.

What you will need

First we open up google chrome and then type the following like in the address bar https://myaccount.google.com/find-your-phone and hit enter.

Once you see the above screen, click on SIGN IN TO START. Enter your Gmail ID (the same one which is on the lost or misplaced phone) and click Next. You will then be prompted to enter your password. Once you have entered your password and have clicked Next, your mobile device will appear.

You can now click on Ring to make it ring. This even works when the mobile is on silent!

If you have lost your device you could even lock it and erase the device.

The above steps will work on any android device (even tablets!).

Apple provides an app called “Find My iPhone”. This app is comes preloaded on all Apple devices.

This app can be accessed from any of your Apple devices. If you only have an iPhone, the app can be accessed by going to https://www.icloud.com/ and signing in with your Apple ID.

After signing in, you will see a map on the top half of the screen along with the list of devices associated with your Apple ID on the bottom half of the screen.

Simply select device which is lost and then select “Actions” at the bottom on the screen.

You now have the option to play a sound, put the phone in lost mode (locks the phone and displays a lost mode message on the screen) or even erase the iPhone!

Use the options above to locate you phone now!

Everyone has misplaced their mobile phones at some point.
